Music

Mrs. Carmona

Instrumental Music has started with some very big classes this year! There are 70 Beginning Violin students and 30 Advanced Violin students. The Beginning Band has 15 members learning to play flute, clarinet, and trumpet. We are practicing very hard for our first concert in January. Some of the songs we will be performing are Jingle Bells, Ode to Joy, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Old McDonald Had a Farm, and Sweetly Sings the Donkey,. The Beginner Violins are learning how to hold their violins and to play their open strings. They are also learning to read music. The Beginning Band students are learning to put their instruments together and learning their first five notes. The Advanced Violin students are learning really difficult music and working at perfecting a beautiful tone. The Advanced Band students are working on a variety of songs and are working to make their fingers move faster. We are looking forward to our first performance and hope this is a wonderful year for music at Addams.

Mr. Borgerding teaches general music to classes TK to 5th grade.  From singing and movement to songs like "Green Eggs and Ham" in Kinder, to teaching recorder to students in 3rd Grade and Bucket Percussion to 5th Grade students, there is always something fun and interesting going on in the auditorium.  Mr. "B" is also the director of the 4th/5th Grade Chorus.  The students at Addams perform in a winter concert and a summer concert each year to showcase their beautiful voices.
