Mrs. Carmona
Instrumental Music has started with some very big classes this year! There are 70 Beginning Violin students and 30 Advanced Violin students. The Beginning Band has 15 members learning to play flute, clarinet, and trumpet. We are practicing very hard for our first concert in January. Some of the songs we will be performing are Jingle Bells, Ode to Joy, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Old McDonald Had a Farm, and Sweetly Sings the Donkey,. The Beginner Violins are learning how to hold their violins and to play their open strings. They are also learning to read music. The Beginning Band students are learning to put their instruments together and learning their first five notes. The Advanced Violin students are learning really difficult music and working at perfecting a beautiful tone. The Advanced Band students are working on a variety of songs and are working to make their fingers move faster. We are looking forward to our first performance and hope this is a wonderful year for music at Addams.
Ms. Daniels
Another wonderful year is unfolding at Addams Elementary School, and I must say that I am very excited! My name is Ms. Daniels and I am the general/vocal music teacher. I am a graduate of CSULB with a Bachelors of Music degree in choral/vocal music education, and a California Teaching Credential in music from the same school. Previously, I taught Chorus and Steel Drums at the middle school level. While I do miss the middle school atmosphere, I am extremely excited to be teaching elementary school. For the upcoming year, the students will be learning several music concepts and terms while learning music from all genres. I am looking forward to a wonderful year, and many wonderful years to come.
